Ah, the days appear to be cooling off…
The autumn smell is, but in the air…
From the potager, ladies fingers…
Long, slender, beautiful…
Alongside… dried, over-ripe corn kernels that escaped the harvester’s eye…
Thin, somewhat ‘undernourished’ kangkong greens…
Yet, delicious when stir fried with black beans and garlic…
Same goes with the zucchinis…
Merely finger-sized, when harvested…
Beyond that, they shrunk and turned bad…
‘The Pride of India’ stands tall in this season…
Blooms so pink, radiant even in the rains…
And to Diana, this post is dedicated to…

I wonder what you teach. You seem to be artistic. Love the composition of your photos. I can't tell your harvest are tiny. They look really good. My kangkung changed shape from longish to roundish. I wonder if you would call that over nourished. 🙂

One… used to teach 'Cross Cultural Management' to undergrads and the grad school for 8 years, but am now almost totally immersed in managing and handling issues related to inbound international students and outbound Japanese students… thank you for your compliments about my seemingly being 'artistic'… actually, I am totally hopeless in drawing and painting, stuff that I consider to be the 'real' art… I actually 'made' my harvest look 'big', thanks to photography… and I would like to see my kangkong turn roundish too…Autumn Belle… yeap, that's 'your' season coming up… I am looking forward to seeing the red, orange and yellow colors too… I just love the autumn season… the zucchinis are very tasty eaten fresh, 'umbilical cord' included…
Fresh harvests for the pots…so satisfying. The zucchinis looked so fresh and crunchy! Diana is so generous with her garden seeds, I got some too recently.

Your okra looks gorgeous! I wish it could grow well here…my little plant looks pretty sad in all the rain we've go this week.
lina… we love kangkong belacan too… sometimes we try to bring back some from Msia… the notes by Diana are very warm… I cherish them…Tanya @ Lovely Greens… 'camera trick' perhaps? But thank god the okras are doing much better this year compared to previous seasons… I realized they need quite a bit of fertilizers…
Oh I never tried kangkung with black bean and garlic. Must try them. I usually just fry them with sambal belacan. I am really happy that the seeds are in your hands now.

Hello Lrong! your pink Pride of India is really pretty. I spotted a dwarf version of the plant at a nursery last year. Now I kind of regretted not buying it. Love the blooms and the fact that the plant thrives well in the heat.

That's something new to me… I imagine you will grab it the next time you see the plant… 🙂
I wish I could grow Okra. I did try a few times in the greenhouse here with heated propagators, but I think the British climate just isn't right.
Matron… I am impressed at your efforts to try growing okra over there… which makes me feel 'lucky' to be able to do it here in Japan without much trouble…
