Flowers for our 29th wedding anniversary…

How time flies…
Yes, on this 3rd day of April, my suweeto haato and I celebrate our 29th year as man and wife…

The vase was from Czechoslovakia…
My better half bought it way back then, when that country was called as such…
And the flower arrangement?
Done by yours truly…

The Japanese name is ‘Rengio’…
The scientific name, Forsythia…
Zero maintenance, and they flower every spring…

We have two big bushes this Daphne plant…
And similarly, zero maintenance but blooms every spring…

Daffodils too…
No effort whatsoever, and they pop out each year…
Love its fragrance…

And the mimosa plant as well…
Lovely flowers every spring for us to cherish…

Happy anniversary to you and yours, the flowers are beautiful!

  4. Congratulations to you and your wife…love vase and flowers…I’m particularly fond of Forsythia…we had a huge collections of bushes all growing together when I was a child…it was so dense mother cats would go under it to have their kittens and the chickens would lay their eggs under it…which made quite a challenge for retrieving the kittens and eggs 🙂

Happy anniversary! So lovely of you to arrange flowers for your missus…save money too eh:P

    • Lrong says:

Hi Jeannie… thank you… when I was younger, I yearned for the day when I can just go to the garden and snip off flowers to decorate the table… it is such a joy to be able to do that now… 🙂

  7. Hello Lrong! Hope you have had an enjoyable anniversary celebration. The flower arrangement is so sweet in colour and fragrant 😉 Life is indeed beautiful!!!

  8. KL says:

Hi Ironglim, me back from the long hiatus to the gardening and blogging world. Missed your blog. First of all, a Very Belated Happy Anniversary. 29 years!! Wow!! I hope you two have another 29 years together definitely. Those are some lovely flowers and beautiful arrangement. Where is this garden located? In Japan or in Malaysia? How cold does it get there?

    • Lrong says:

Hello KL… it is a pleasure to hear from you again… and should I say, ‘welcome back’? Thank you for your wishes… yeap, 29 years of ‘roller-coasting’, and planning to have more of it… the flowers are all from our garden… Potager Y is located in Japan… winters can get down to about minus 4 or 5 degrees celscius… you can find out more information on the location and the background of Potager Y from the links at the top of the page…

Forgive my lateness! Twenty-nine years, congratulations! What a lovely bouquet ! I wish you many, many more years to come!

    • Lrong says:

Thank you Connie… Yeap, twenty nine years ‘only’… still a bit ‘junior’ compared to many other ‘super’ couples celebrating their 50 years together…
