About seven years ago, a Japanese friend gave me some tubers of this lotus…
I planted some in the pond, and the rest into a large pot…
The ones in the pond grew well, but not the ones in the pot…
This summer, we had the pleasure to enjoy about 12 blooms of this mini-lotus…
‘Mini’ as in, only five or even sometimes less, seeds in each pod…
AMAZING photos!:-) Can they grow in dirt? We have some on the river that are beautiful and they get quite thick at times.
Thank you Robbie… I have my lotus plants planted in a pot, and then submerged in my pond…
I have one plant in a pot, I see most of the time it grows leaf after leaf.
But I enjoy seeing the fish living in the pot.
Perhaps a little short on fertilizers?
Beautiful lotus flowers. Do you harvest the lotus seeds for food and are there roots to harvest?
The seeds are too few and small for consumption… and the roots too, are rather small as this is a ‘mini’ specie…
Wow! Those lotus flowers look gorgeous!
Thank you Jeannie…
