Dwarf lotus in the pond…

Image

About seven years ago, a Japanese friend gave me some tubers of this lotus…

Image

I planted some in the pond, and the rest into a large pot…

The ones in the pond grew well, but not the ones in the pot…

This summer, we had the pleasure to enjoy about 12 blooms of this mini-lotus…

Image

‘Mini’ as in, only five or even sometimes less, seeds in each pod…

AMAZING photos!:-) Can they grow in dirt? We have some on the river that are beautiful and they get quite thick at times.

  2. I have one plant in a pot, I see most of the time it grows leaf after leaf.

But I enjoy seeing the fish living in the pot.

Beautiful lotus flowers. Do you harvest the lotus seeds for food and are there roots to harvest?
